Context

The Facebook Dublin office was really excited to update their existing installation that educated visitors on what goes on behind the scenes when someone uses Facebook.

Challenge

The existing installation was old, clunky, and makes servers (something already quite uninteresting) even less exciting for people to learn about. We were tasked with making this back-end process, that happens at your fingertips, into a theatrical experience.

We designed Behind the Scenes, a fully immersive 60 second exhibition that showcases a series of Facebook data center artifacts. Step in and discover the hardware and software systems that power lightning fast, global communication.
